THE DOCTORSWe are proud of combining traditional family medicine with up to date clinical practice. We hope our enthusiasm for the job comes across to you. The doctors are all very experienced with a breadth of training and expertise well beyond the minimum requirement for general practice. DR Allan Jones has enjoyed living and working in the area since 1983. Prior to entering general practice he had extensive postgraduate training in paediatrics at specialist children’s hospitals including neonatology, paediatric chest, renal, gastroenterological and neurological medicine, oncology, community paediatrics, and working with children with special needs. He has also trained in obstetrics & gynaecology, accident & emergency medicine and has particular expertise in rheumatology. His areas of interest include paediatrics, rheumatology and asthma care. DR Catherine Hyett was born & schooled in Whitchurch and joined the practice in 1992. She has postgraduate training in obstetrics & gynaecology, paediatrics, ENT, care of the elderly, accident & emergency medicine, orthopaedics. Her interests include sports medicine, diabetes, care of the elderly, allergy and she also has a special interest and qualifications in Occupational Medicine and Travel Medicine. She is involved in developing IT within the practice to optimise accessibility and patient care. DR Maria Johnson joined the practice in 2000. Her areas of special interest are children’s and women’s health and family planning in which she holds specialist qualifications. She recently obtained a diploma in dermatology . She can speak Dutch and is currently learning Welsh.
