PRESCRIPTIONS

We operate a co-operative system with the local pharmacists in Whitchurch, Tongwynlais and Llandaff North, so you may either leave your repeat prescription requests with them or in reception - these will be ready for collection within 24 hours. Postal requests can also be accepted when accompanied by a S.A.E. but allow 5 working days. In addition, faxed requests will be accepted.  Unfortunately we do not consider telephone repeats to be a safe way of prescribing, but if you require medication urgently for any reason please phone to speak to the duty doctor. Those on repeat prescriptions will be asked to attend for a review of your medication by a doctor or nurse at regular intervals.

This year we have also introduced repeat prescription requests via the internet by following  the link www.patient.co.uk/surgery.asp  This is a secure service for which you will need to register and you will be given a PIN number etc. for security. We need to be sure you are who you say you are, to prevent others accessing your confidential data, so you will be asked to register and give your consent at the practice in person.  We may ask you for some form of identification to support this. Because of issues around confidentiality this service is only normally open to those 18 years or over.
